GSK256073 is a potent, selective and orally active G-protein coupled receptor 109A (GPR109A) agonist and a long-lasting and non-flushing hydroxy-carboxylic acid receptor 2 (HCA2) full agonist with a pEC50 of 7.5 for human HCA2. It acutely improves glucose homeostasis by inhibiting lipid breakdown and has the potential to study type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and dyslipidemia.
