Prostaglandins are rapidly inactivated in vivo by the action of 15-hydroxy prostaglandin dehydrogenase (15-hydroxy PGDH). CAY10397 is a selective inhibitor of 15-hydroxy PGDH, significantly suppressing endogenous 11-oxo-ETE production with a corresponding increase in 11(R)-HETE. It is a selective inhibitor of 15-hydroxy PGDH with IC50 of 10 μM.
