As an intermediate in the synthesis of Ranimustine, Methyl α-?D-?Glucopyranoside 6-?(4-?Methylbenzenesulfona?te) is a nitrosourea alkylating agent approved in Japan for the treatment of chronic myelogenous leukemia and polycythemia vera.
