Acetyl-CoA acetyltransferase, mitochondrial, also known as acetoacetyl-CoA thiolase, is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the ACAT (Acetyl-Coenzyme A acetyltransferase) gene. Both ACAT-1 and ACAT-2 are acetyl-CoA C-acetyltransferase enzyme. CAY10485 inhibits human ACAT-1 and ACAT-2 with an IC50 of 95 and 81 μM, respectively. It also inhibits copper-mediated oxidation of low density lipoproteins.
