As an intermediate in the synthesis of Ranimustine, Methyl 6-[[[(2-Chloroethyl)amino]carbonyl]amino]-6-deoxy-α-D-glucopyranoside is a nitrosourea alkylating agent approved in Japan for the treatment of chronic myelogenous leukemia and polycythemia vera.
