In vivo, cis-flupenthixol reduces cocaine-induced locomotor activity and prevents development of conditioned place preferences for the immediate effects of intravenously administered cocaine without affecting development of conditioned place aversions in rats. It is also a neuroleptic agent related structurally to thiothixene.
