Prinomastat is an inhibitor of matrix metalloproteinase-2 (MMP-2), MMP-3, MMP-9, MMP-13, and MMP-14 (IC50s = 0.05, 0.3, 0.26, 0.03, and 0.33 nM, respectively). Prinomastat (50 mg/kg) reduces tumor growth and inhibits the formation of lung metastases in a murine Lewis lung carcinoma model.
