Gatifloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic, with potent activity against Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria. It also inhibits the bacterial enzymes DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV. It was shown to promote self-renewal in human and mouse embryonic stem cells.
