Tranylcipromine inhibits Lysine-Specific Demethylase 1 (LSD1, IC50 = 20.7 µM), MAO A (IC50 = 2.3 µM) and MAO B (IC50 = 0.95 µM). This compound has been demonstrated that it promoted reprogramming of mouse embryonic fibroblasts to induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells, and reprogramming of human keratinocytes to iPS cells.
